Il 17 novembre è la "Giornata internazionale del gatto nero". Qualche tempo fa ho ritrovato tra le scartoffie questo reperto archeologico, fatto chissà quanti secoli fa...è uno sgorbietto, ma appropriato alla situazione! Tanti auguri alla mia gattina nera Medea!

Lussemburgo, dal 1990, il gatto ha la sua festa, che ricorre il 17 febbraio. Sono state le grandi associazioni feline del mondo a scegliere questa data perché il mese di febbraio è dominato da Urano, pianeta degli spiriti liberi e indipendenti, del genio e della sregolatezza, proprio come il gatto. Il 17, inoltre, fa parte della numerologia legata alla superstizione e alla magia, e l’anagramma di questo numero scritto in romano dà "VIXI"...e solo il gatto, che ha sette vite, può dire ‘ho vissuto’ da vivo. 

Ed io non potevo che contrubuire a quest'evento così speciale con un disegno a loro dedicato!

Luxembourg, since 1990, the cat has its own festival, which marks the 17th February. Were been the major cat associations in the world to choose this date because the month of February is dominated by Uranus, planet of free and independent spirits, of genius and recklessness, just like the cat. 

The 17 also is part of the numerology linked to superstition and magic, and the anagram of this number written in Roman gives "VIXI"...and the cat, that has seven lives, can say "I lived" alive.

And I could not help that event so special with a drawing dedicated to them!

Oggi è la "Giornata mondiale del gatto" e figuriamoci se potevo farmela scappare! ^.^

Quindi in pausa pranzo ho prodotto un disegnino tutto dedicato a questi splendidi animali, che io amo tanto. Pubblico per ora solo lo schizzo a matita perchè ho un pò da lavorare e non ho tempo per colorarlo subito, ma prometto che in serata apparirà la versione definitiva!

Today is "International Day for the Cat" and  I couldn't let it go! ^.^

So at lunch I produced a small drawing entirely dedicated to these beautiful animals that I love so much. Now I publish only the pencil sketch because I have a bit to work and I have no time to color it right away, but I promise that the final version will appear in the evening!

SALVALAVITA MEDEA

Quest'oggi voglio fare un tributo alla mia meravigliosa gatta domestica, di nome Medea.

L'idea mi è venuta quando mia mamma mi ha raccontato un aneddoto accaduto che questo stesso pomeriggio. Dopo pranzo lei si era andata a riposare un attimo sul divano, passate alcune decine di minuti la gatta le si avvicina ed inizia a miagolare insistentemente, cosa molto strana per lei che solitamente è di pochissime parole. "Mamauu, mamauu, mamauuauuauuauu..." fatto sta che mia madre si è alzata e l'ha seguita. Quando è arrivata in cucina si è accorta di aver dimenticato una pentola d'acqua sul fuoco e che questa ormai era completamente asciutta : col pericolo di incendiare casa!

C'è chi dice che i gatti domestici non servono a nulla, anche noi a volte ci scherziamo dicendole d'imparare a cucinare o a lavare i piatti. Ma oggi la micina ci ha dato una bella lezione e ci ha fatto capire di essere stata più che utile : indispensabile!

Today I want to do a tribute to mine wonderful domestic cat, called Medea.

The idea come to me when my mother told me an anecdote that happened this same afternoon. After lunch she gone to take a rest on the sofa, some tens of minuts after the cat approaches itself and begins to mew insistently, a thing much strange for it that usually is of least words. "Mamauu, mamauu, mamauuauuauuauu..." the fact is that my mother stood up and followed it. When they arrived into the kitchen she perceived to have forgotten a pot of water on the fire and that by now  it was completely dry : with the danger to set afire the house!

Someone says that the domestic cats aren't use to nothing, also we sometimes joke saying it learn to cook or to wash the plates. But today the kitten gave us a lesson and it made us to understand to be more than useful: indispensable!
